'IMISI RECORDS NEW ROOTS ALBUM WITH LION OF ZION

Oct. 28, 2005 - Greetings from 'Imisi, it's been a while since our last update and a lot of wonderful things have taken place since our previous writing. David (lead vocals/keys) recently wed Tita, the love of his life and the two had the grandest of weddings. He and his brother Jubilee (lead vocals/drums) have been leading Sunday worship at their father's church and at the Christian Life Center in Riverside, CA. They have also been performing concerts at various churches and other major events in promotion of their "Visions of the Father" album with Joel (vocals) and Saufo'i To'omalatai (Guitar/vocals). Last month they performed at Calvary Chapel South Bay's annual Men's Conference in Torrance where thousands of men gathered together for some sweet reggae music, worship and to hear the Word of God from great pastors such as Steve Mays, Raul Ries, Don McClure, David Rosales and Pancho Juarez. It was an incredible event and many men came forward and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.

In early October David and Jubilee began the lengthy process of recording their second 'Imisi album with Lion of Zion Ent., in Christafari's Zionic Sounds Dub Lab with award winning gospel reggae producer Mark Mohr. This presently untitled recording is slated for release early next year. Unlike their last effort, this album is much more sophisticated, far more roots sounding and the musical arrangements are mind-blowing.

"After hearing the demos for this album I was floored," said producer Mark Mohr. "The material was so strong that I wanted to make sure that we recorded a timeless album that would endure for decades. So we decided to replace the digital sequencing of the past with earthy textures and tones similar to what you would hear on an early Aswad, Steel Pulse or Gregory Isaac album. All of the tracking is being done with live instruments including performances by members of 'Imisi, Christafari and some of the best musicians in the gospel reggae scene. We are also re-recording two popular songs from the group's classic "Youth Exodus Live" album ("By the Rivers of Babylon" and "My Friend"). Everyone who hears this new material is pleasantly surprised. The material and production is on a whole different level from their previous recording--these are some BIG TUNES!"

The entire recording will take about two months to complete from beginning to end and we are about half way done with the process. We have already tracked live drums, bass, keys and guitar. Next week we will start laying down vocals, percussion and eventually horns and then editing/mixing.

As you can imagine, it is very tough for us to be away from our spouses and the financial stability of our jobs for such a long period of time. Would you please commit to praying for our recording, our families and our finances? If you feel the Lord calling you to give a one time or monthly donation to our struggling ministry, please contact us immediately. Thanks so much for your prayers and support.
Blessings in Christ,
'IMISI
