Christafari is Nominated for four Marlin Awards!
Mar. 10, 2000 - The nominations have just been released for the Marlin 2000 Caribbean Awards and Christafari has been nominated in four categories! The Marlin Awards are held each year in Nassau, Bahamas and have been called the "Gospel Grammys of the Caribbean". Christafari is excited to have received every applicable nomination possible in the album categories. This is a significant feat given that the band is the only US based (non-Caribbean group) nominated for this ceremony.
The nominations include one in the "Outstanding Caribbean Album of the Year" category for their Lion of Zion label debut "WordSound&Power". 'Tan-so-back' and company also scored nominations in the "Outstanding Caribbean Group Vocal Performance of the Year", "Caribbean Reggae Recording of the Year" and also in the "Outstanding Caribbean Duo Vocal of the Year" category for the song "Emancipation Proclamation" with Bermuda's top gospel artist Geneman. The Marlin Awards will be held on April 2nd, 2000 in Nassau, Bahamas.
