Nov. 10, 2004 - If you caught any of the shows of Christafari's 2004 Gravitational tour, then you probably heard a few previously unreleased songs like the crowd favorite, "New Movement". This song that inspired a T-shirt was initially recorded as a ministry tool to be handed out at the 2004 Olympic Games. Over 30,000 free copies were distributed in Athens last August. The premise of the song is as follows; Reggae is huge! And as dancehall continues to run things, reggae has become more and more known for its contagious dances. It all started way back in the day with "Do the Ska". Since then, artists like Buju have given us the "Bogle," Beenie gave us the "World Dance," and more recently Elephant Man gave us the "Log On," and the notorious "Pon the River," just to name a few.
In the same vein, Mark Mohr and Christafari recorded a dancehall track that compiles a host of "New Movements" from the New Testament. These dances are the "Read Your Bible," "Preach the Gospel," "Gospel of Peace," "Flee Temptation," "Baptize Them," and the "Damascas" (that is presently all the rage).
Inspired by these dances and the childhood game "Twister," comes a Christafari t-shirt that is fun to wear!
